The Toba Indians live in the hot region of the pampa in the northern Argentinian province of Chaco. The United Council of Missions, an ecumenical organization of churches, has been involved in health and social work in and around the town of J.J. Castelli. In recent years, the Council helped create agricultural production systems which, without interfering with the traditional culture, provide a more steady source of income.
